Since consumers become increasingly aware of the issues of energy consumption, many hall owners are recognising that industrial and commercial halls need a modern and future-oriented heating and ventilation system. This applies to both new buildings and existing buildings.

In many cases an energetic restructuring of the system technology is useful in existing buildings, under certain circumstances in combination with the renovation of the building envelope. The task is to replace inefficient systems (e.g. old steam boiler systems or ON-OFF radiation systems) with efficient condensing warm air heaters.

A major cost and energy driver of a production hall, in addition to the electricity requirement, is the provision of heat. By using modern decentralised heating technology, significant costs and CO2 emissions can be saved.

The advantages of decentralised heating technology using the example of modern hot-air heating systems are clearly evident:

  • Only the heat that is currently needed is supplied to the building. This is possible without any problem with the help of modulating gas burners and microprocessor controllers. All nordluft condensing combustion units are equipped with condensate-resistant stainless steel heat exchangers.
  • Constant, low supply temperatures, which are permanently monitored and controlled, ensure an improved indoor climate and demonstrably avoid temperature stratification over the height of the building while at the same time ensuring optimum distribution over the entire floor area of the hall.
  • Compared to the old plants mentioned above, energy up to ten percent can be achieved by using condensing warm air heaters. The use of condensation heat in the flue gas ensures firing efficiency levels of up to 105%, which are common in modern condensing systems.
  • nordluft condensing combustion units offer a wide range of possible heating capacities (from 20 - 2000 kW) and air capacities and are also available as larger systems.
  • Decentralised warm air heating systems are excluded from the EnEV tightening of 01.01.2016 for buildings > 4 m, as they provide better heat distribution of the warm air in the room and a direct conversion into warm air, without an intermediate medium like water. The EnEV, EEWärmeG and ErP guidelines are easy to comply with for modern warm air systems.
